Why I Don't Post Reviews Of Lipa's Albums

Can a mother tell you which one of her children she loves the most? Can someone say which one of his fingers he likes the best? So too, can we really say which Lipa song is the best, which album is the best, which song we like the most. As Lipa says: I love them all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

English Translation Of Yener- Track 4 on "A Pasheta Yid"

(Parentises indicate implied words) [Brackets indicate explanations or the yiddish word being translated]

At home and by Simchas [happy occasions],
And anywhere you can,
You copy others,
Eventhough it makes no sense,
To live for yourself,
Who wants today to take a chance,
How do I do this, when everyone does something else.

Heh, neighbors and friends, (are) surely familiar,
Oh for all of them, to please them you must,
Nation of Yiden, nice Yiden, with the [this] problem,
Involved in [Moisdois] organizations, unfortunately everybody suffers from it.

What is nicer? Oh what do others say?
You, stop it, start living for yourself,
Others opinions let go, ask "YOURSELF": 'Who am I? Who am I? Who am I?'

What is nicer? Oh what do others say?
You, stop it, start living for yourself,
Others opinions let go, ask "YOURSELF": 'Who am I? Who am I? Who am I? Who am I?'

What should I buy? Which style?
So that everyone should give me a smile,
This hat, glasses, shoes,
They say that it's sweet,
It's hard on the ears [the hat],
It's heavy on the head [the glasses],
It's squeezing the feet [the shoes].

Who is this other, I'm looking for him so long,
That everybody runs after his footsteps.
From where is this system coming from? It goes without a boundary,
Conducting your life, exactly how the others want.

Who are the others? By ladies, men, who establishes everything, that's going on by me?
Others opinions let go, ask "YOURSELF", What can I [be or do]? What do I do? What do I want?
Where is the other, what can he accomplish, that everybody should live for themselves? [Why look at the other? Shouldn't everyone live for themselves?]
And everyone should understand, for "THEMSELVES", Who am I? Who am I? Who am I?

We do all this only for others, (to) run after the styles,
And therefore I wrote this in song [melodiously], to teach myself I allow this [I wanna learn from this song], to sing that's why I do it [I'm singing this to teach a lesson].
Yes? [Really? (people asking if Lipa is serious)]
Yes. [Lipa's response]
Now I'm finishing this conversation, start a new kingdom,
Make a new start, a life of tranquility, ask ask your Father [do what Hashem wants], don't think anymore what other people say.

Others opinions let go, live for "YOURSELF", Who am I? Who am I? Who am I?
Others opinions let go, ask "YOURSELF", Who am I? Who am I? Who am I? Who are you?

But what's nicer? But what do other's say?
Stop already, start living for "YOURSELF",
Live for yourself already, for "YOURSELF", Who are you? Who am I? Who are you?

Yes, it's nicer, when also [Yener] others [live for themselves], start finally living for yourself,
Others opinions let go, ask "YOURSELF", Who am I? Who am I? Who am I? Who are you?

The Lipa Pen

This is the pen that Lipa gave out after the release of "A Pasheta Yid". It is this very pen that is used to write down the translations to Lipa's songs before they are typed up.

It says: A Happy Summer From: A POSHITER YID

Check Out The Cover Of Country Yossi

Notice how what would seem as a bigger story (that Simcha Felder is running for the State Senate) is pushed aside to a top bar to make room for the much more important cover news.

English Translation Of "A Pasheta Yid"- Track 6 of "A Pasheta Yid"

(Parentises indicate implied words) [Brackets indicate explanations or the yiddish word being translated]

I'm going on this path, since I was born.
In about the same way, but confused and lost.
I go out into the world, from the new generations,
Today, there is a different feel, yet the same Torah.

I will not fall,
I will stay strong,
(I am) from Hashem's generals [in His army],
Eventhough it's a hard world [This phrase goes back on "I will not fall, I will stay strong"].
I'm still not a Tzadik,
But I don't get tired,
I still don't give up,
I am a simple Jew.

And eventhough a Tfilah I don't understand,
I get broken up (yet) I don't leave this [he continues Davening],
Because I'm speaking to Taty [Hashem] in my simple language.
Just like a baby that has no teeth,
And can't speak but can only cry,
What this child wants the mother understands right away.
When one does Hishtadlus [puts in effort],
Who can estimate the worth,
What is in truth a greatness [It appears great to us],
Maybe in Heaven they see it as the opposite [Therefore, maybe even small effort is in reality greater than things that appear great to us].
We are still not a Tzadik, we're not allowed to become tired,
We're still not allowed to give up, You are a simple Jew.

I want to stop asking, and want to understand everything.
Through simple ways, I'd rather go.
I will not weaken myself, I can take small steps,
And accomplish great things, [Lipa in english]: "step by step".

Perhaps I'm not the greatest,
But still I am strong,
I try my best,
Eventhough I can't satisfy everyone.
I fight hard battles, Oiii,
With terrible enemies [the category 3 people],
So that the young Neshamas [souls],
Should grow up Ehrlicha [correctly]. [Lipa does what he does(his thing) to help out the young generation to stay on the Ehrlicha way, although he has to fight the category 3 people all along the way].

Worthless is, the ship's captain,
Without the manpower, to carry out the plan,
Because everyone has a part in this war. [All of Klal Yisrael must be behind the "Captain" of the generation in order to win the fight against evil. No Jew can be left behind].
Even if you are only the cook from this army,
Still I am sure that it is worth it,
"Everyone" takes part in this big victory.

You're not allowed to fall,
You have to remain strong,
(You are) from Hashem's generals,
Eventhough it's a hard world.
I am still not a Tzadik, Still I don't get tired,
I am still not allowed to give up, I am a simple Jew.

[Lipa's New Outlook]

Since I'm going on this path,
It opened up new doors,
It's no longer [B'Erech] approximiate [there's no more doubt],
There's no more confusion and (feeling of being) lost [Lipa then says: [Halevai]: I wish it to be like this].

Yes, you're doing Hishtadlus [putting in effort],
Yes, it's definitely worth it,
It is a big [Gadlus] greatness,
In Heaven it gets listened to,
If you're still not a Tzadik,
You're not allowed to get tired,
You're not allowed to give up,
You are at least a simple Jew.

The Rebbe Reb Zishe used to always say happily,
They [the Heavenly court] will not hit me [hold against me] for not being Melech [Reb Elimelech (the Noam Elimelech), Reb Zishe's brother],
The best that "I" can be, "that's" what they want from me,
I am Lipa, I am not the greatest [Lipa is just being humble at this point; He really IS the greatest],
But I will try my best,
I beg you: Taty [Hashem], help me when I try.

I will not fall,
I will stay strong,
(I am) From Your generals,
Eventhough it's a hard world.
I am still not a Tzadik,
I beg (You Hashem) I should not get tired,
[Lipa talking to himself]:You are still not allowed to give up,
I am a simple Jew.

Lipa Interview, On Nachum Segal Show, This Morning

Lipa is an amazing Tzadik.

English Translation Of Shelo Asani Goy- Track 2 of "A Pasheta Yid"

(Parentises indicate implied words) [Brackets indicate explanations or the yiddish word being translated]

The 8th day by the Bris, How nice and beautiful
A small, sweet Yid

The 1st Mitzvah, It makes him shine,
Because now he is a Yid

By 3 years old (he gets) Peyas and he licks off the honey [A custom done to show how sweet the Torah is],
And looking like a Yid

Running in Cheder, Also without a stick [He willing goes without having to be forced, for example, with a stick (thanks to MBL for this P'Shat)],
I love to be a Yid

The father at work amongst goyim,
Conducts himself like a Yid

Time is not wasted with Devarim B'Taylim [Activities to just kill time with],
[S'Past Nisht] It's improper for a Yid

The mother by (in middle of) cooking does not stop thinking,
My kid is growing up as a Yid

The sister and brother are shining in Yiddishkeit,
Oh how good it is to be a Yid

For not, for not having made me a goy, Every Yid says like this,

For not, for not having made me a goy, Every Yid sings like this,

Even when it's hard, the Torah we still keep,

He says all of this, I am [Shtultz] proud to be a Yid.

For not, for not having made me a goy,

[Lipa in english]

"Yes, we say it, full of joy."

For not, for not having made me a goy,

[Lipa in english]

"Yes, we sing it, full of joy.

Although some times it's tough,

The Mitzvahs we all do,

Witnessed by the One Above,

I'm so proud to be a Jew."

Right in the morning before an [or any] elevated prayer,
In the Siddur looks a Yid.

And he concentrates all his thoughts,
To the Creator screams a Yid.

Picked out from amongst the nations,
CHOSEN is the Yid.

[Hashem] separated us [V'Hivdeelunuu] from those who stray,
SEPARATED is only the Yid.

Every Mitzvah and Minhag [custom] is so proper,
Many [Kavonos] thoughts has the Yid.

We speak to the moon, It looks fanatical,
To Havdallah winks a Yid.

But we Yiden know for sure,
What is required of a Yid.

In every action there is something higher,
That can be felt only by a Yid.

"Yes, I say it, full of joy."

For not, for not having made me a goy,

[Lipa in english]

"Yes, I sing it, full of joy.

Although some times it's tough,

The Mitzvahs we all do,

Witnessed by the One Above,

I'm so proud to be a Jew."

Oh how good it is to be a Yid, Oh how good it is to be a Yid, Oh how good it is to be a Yidela,
Oh how good it is to be a Yid, Oh how good it is to be a Yid, Oh how good it is to be a Yidela,

For not, for not having made me a goy, Every Yid says like this,

For not, for not having made me a goy, Every Yid sings like this,

For not, for not having made me a goy,

[Lipa in english]

"Yes, we sing it, full of joy."

For not, for not having made me a goy,

[Lipa in english]

"Yes, I say it, full of joy."

For not, for not having made me a goy,

I am proud to be a Yid.

English Translation Of Wake Up- Track 9 On "A Pasheta Yid"

As I said previously, Lipa's new cd is one big rocked up mussar vort. I hope the english speaking public can use this translation to learn the mussar of the song and not only relate the song to waking up in the morning; but to apply it to their daily lives where they also have to WAKE UP from the yetzer hara.
Click here to listen to the song while reading the translation:

(Parentises indicate implied words) [Brackets indicate explanations or the yiddish word being translated]
Alarm Clock beeps.......... Lipa hits the snooze button............ It beeps again........... The phone rings........
Lipa's father: "Lipa, Get up to read Shema. It's late. The Z'man K'riyas Shema is soon; a few minutes. Please, Get up quick to read Shema, Lipa.

[Yetzer tov speaking]:

Wake Up, i'm telling you again,
Wake Up, i'm begging you again,
Wake Up, don't allow yourself again (to be influenced), from the yetzer hara.

Wake Up, i'm telling you again,
Wake Up, i'm begging you again,
Wake Up, don't allow yourself again (to be influenced), get up already.

[Shty Oif] Get up, i'm telling you again,
[Shty Oif] Get up, i'm begging you again,
[Shty Oif] Get up, don't allow yourself again (to be influenced), from the yetzer hara.

[Shty Oif] Get up, i'm telling you again,
[Shty Oif] Get up, i'm begging you again,
[Shty Oif] Get up, don't allow yourself again (to be influenced), get up already.

[Yetzer hara speaking]:

Outside it's cold,
You're young not yet old, [old people tend to get up earlier than young people]
Continue sleeping under the covers.
Look at the clock,
You didn't sleep enough,
Go right back to sleep.
There is a Z'man Tfilah,
At a later time,
And besides, your clock is a broken one,
If you go to shul,
You'll be there all alone,
[OH] Aiiii, this sleep is good.

[Yetzer tov speaking]:

[Lipa, in a begging tone] Wake Up, i'm telling you again,
Wake Up, i'm begging you again,
Wake Up, don't allow yourself again (to be influenced), from the yetzer hara.

[Shty Oif] Get up, i'm begging you again,
[Shty Oif] Get up, i'm telling you again,
[Shty Oif] Get up, Get up, Get up already.

Wake Up, i'm telling you again,
[Shty Oif] Get up, i'm warning (you) again, [Shty Oif] Get up, Nuuu, Come on, don't listen again to the yetzer hara.
Wake Up, i'm telling you again,
Get up, i'm begging you again, Get up, Get up, Get up, Get up, Get up, Get up already.

[Yetzer hara speaking]:

Outside it's hot,
The sweat is flowing,
Chatzois (noon) is late,
Don't rush to davening.
It's warm in shul,
At home it's cool,
You can still sleep alot.
Your Chavrusa is not there,
He was by a vort,
Yesterday, he joined a nice simcha,
Think like a Jew,
You have to be well rested,
Sleep and don't be tired.

[Yetzer tov speaking]:

Run like a deer, and be strong like a lion,
It's already morning, Hurry up.

[Shty Oif] Get,Get Up Already, Get,Get Up Already, Get,Get Up Already, Get Up Already, Get,Get Up Already, Get,Get Up Already, Get,Get Up Already, Don't listen to him [the yetzer hara].

[Lipa speaking]:

In winter, in summer,
The satan comes at all times,
At home, in hotels, in my dormitory room.
From there he runs to heaven,
And makes such a tumult,
"Look how he's taking a nap." [satan's accusation about the person]

[Yetzer hara speaking]:

It's hot in the street,
Don't make a fool out of yourself,
Don't be a frummy,
And go out of your mind.
The streets are all wet,
The grass and trees are white [from snow],
It's raining, it's cold, it's snowing, it's icy.

[Lipa speaking]:

There is a war,
In every neshama [soul],
And both yetzers are busy,
The yetzer hatov, tells us "Get up,
Look up to the Creator."
Afterwards, the satan comes, he wants to advise us,
He always comes up with new ideas,
If you are smart, give him a zets [punch, slam],
And don't fall in his net.

[Yetzer tov speaking]:

Run like a deer, and be strong like a lion,
It's already morning, Hurry up.

Come on Get up,
I beg you Get up,

I gratefully thank You, O living and eternal King...... [First morning prayer, said upon arising],

GET UP!!!
GET UP!!!
GET UP!!!

Never Give Up Hope

Even if a sharp sword is put by your neck, don't give up hope because everything can change in an instant.

The Brand New Wake Up Clone

The song entitled Wake Up has been a major issue in Lipa's new cd. It was leaked to the public early, forcing Lipa to spend an extra $6,000 dollars to redo the music and choir to give the people a new sound when hearing the cd. He did not want people to say, "Oh I heard that already." Therefore Lipa changed it up. This led to the issue of which version is better. Answer: Each one had its good points, as well as slight nuances that took away from the greatness of the song. Overall, the original is better with a smooth rythm and beat but the volume is low. The new version has a great intro. yet during the song there is a constant backround beat that takes away from the flow and speed of the rap parts. There is no easy solution to this problem. However, the following exclusive clip from itsunbeLIPAble may take care of some of these issues. This clip is called THE WAKE UP CLONE. It includes the good points of both versions of the song. From when Lipa says wake up for this first time until almost the end of the song (where the ending of the original version is placed in) BOTH versions play SIMULTANEOUSLY. This new version (courtesy of OneManBand613) thus includes the immense LIPAness of the mussar song, known as WAKE UP.

Watch this video before davening and it'll be a different davening. Look how big the universe is. This can make you realize just an inkling of how great the Ribono Shel Olam is.

The Big Event Is not Subtle At All

Before A Pasheta Yid came out, I mentioned that I thought Lipa would hint at the Big Event somehow; maybe secretly encoded in a song. Well there was no subtlety at all. Lipa BLATANTLY referred to it:

However, I do think there is a secret message in this picture:

I think Lipa is saying the following: "You category 3 people may not like me and you may now want to rip down A Pasheta Yid, but in my opinion your Kol Koireh has also been ripped down because you did not accomplish what you wanted to. You did not knock me off the Jewish scene. Hashem wants me to be here to make people happy and therefore I hope you change your attitude and accept me for who I am. Please, don't be jealous. I'm no greater than you. I'm just a pasheta yid."

New Version Of Lipa Sings The Titles Of His Cd Covers Including A Pasheta Yid

Lipa's Presence Alone Is Enough To Enhance A Simcha

Players in a band are just like other people. After doing the same job over and over every single night, things get monotonous and boring. When Lipa is the singer, however, that changes everything. The players feel that something special is going on. There is a buzz in the air. Everyone in the area is excited. Something special is happening. The players realize that this is not going to be an ordinary night. This is gonna be a LIPAdiga night. Lipa starts singing and the players actually get excited; there is no more boredom as in previous nights. THE PLAYERS ACTUALLY PLAY BETTER WHEN LIPA IS THERE. He makes them get into it with his conduction of the music. They want to play better because they know that there is quality and a high standard in the air. I think we would all agree that by a simcha we'd rather have Lipa and even a one man band than not to have Lipa even with a 50 piece band. Clearly, Lipa and the one maner will be a better performance.

This video displays exactly what I am talking about. Look how Lipa masterfully conducts the band and gets them all excited and into it. The audio is not synced correctly but Lipa's charisma is clearly seen.

New Version Of Wake Up

Since the two intro.'s of the Wake Ups are both so good, I put them together in this NEW WAKE UP. Plus I added in the deba deba dudan beat towards the end of the song.

It's Not Poshet At All

First off, let's consider where I was wrong. The Asher Yatzar song was not the bracha discussing Hashem acting wondrously, but the one from Sheva Brachos. That now leaves us with this mysterious "Asher Yatzar" recording to the tune of Rabosai (see previous post, "The Shtick Is Here"). Is it really Lipa? Did he just record it as a joke in the studio? Is there more of the song than just this clip? Very mysterious.

Now, let's talk about Wake Up. On this one, I was basically right. Lipa definitely accomplished what he wanted to by making it sound really different than the original leaked version. HOWEVER, the original one is still BETTER. That is correct. You can argue all you want, but the new version is watered down. You might say, "It's the same thing," but no it's not; the original was more powerful sounding (in the backround) and the rap seems faster. I will say this: the new intro. to the song is absolutely fabulous. Is that Lipa's father on the machine? Whoever it is, it IS GREAT!! (LIPA!!!! Almost time for Z'man Kriyas Shema!!!! Please LIPA!!! Shty Oif!!!- LIPAing Out Loud) Also the music leading up to the first time Lipa says "Wake Up" is very good. That, however, does not mean to say the original Wake Up intro. was on a lower level of amazingness. So what comes out, is that the intro.'s to both versions are equally good, but the original Wake Up is the BETTER version. This leads us to a problem. Based on the criteria that a song must be on a Lipa cd to qualify for the top 5 list, the first version can't really be counted (and the version on the cd might not be able to knock Gelt down to the number 2 spot). Therefore, we'll just have to say that Gelt and Wake Up (the original version) are tied for number one on the list. Lipa has forced us to break our criteria and put the original version of Wake Up there (it's just too good not too). So what comes out, is that, amazingly, Gelt was able to salvage its title as number 1 although it'll have to now share that title. If this all sounds like a Gemara discussion, its all in the spirit of track 1 and track 10 which talk about Torah. The cd is just one big, rocked up, mussar vort.

WHERE ARE THE CHOSSON AND KALLAH???

The Shtick Is Here

For a while now there has been a joke going around about Lipa making a cd about Asher Yatzer. No doubt, this joke was put forth by the category 3 people. Well now, Lipa has taken the joke and completlely turned the tables. One of the tracks on his new cd is called "Asher Yatzar." It is sung to the same tune as Rabosai. This is gonna be a big big Big BIG hit and show the category 3 people that Lipa will take your joke and mix it up, spin it around, and with a smile, turn it into something great. (An even greater shtick would be to mention the Big Event in the new cd- Listen carefully and you may just hear a reference to it- When it comes to Lipa you just never know). For a sneak peak listen, to part of the Asher Yatzar song, click the play button below. ENJOY!!!

Smart Move Lipa

Breaking News: Lipa takes appropriate measures to protect himself from the category 3 people.

Lipa's Joke

On oorah's radiothon, Lipa said over a very funny joke. First we'll show you what the advertising for the oorahthon looked like:
There were ads of this picture in both The Jewish Press and The Five Towns Jewish Times. In the Yated and the Hamodia the ads were full pages. Oh boy how the category 3 people must have been cringing. But anyway here is the joke:

(Paraphrasing) Lipa: So you know now with the gas prices being so high, I was driving in Manhattan on my way here, and there was alot of traffic. A bunch of criminals held up a Brinks truck on the highway, but they just took the gas out of it and they left the money. HA HA HA!!! LOL LOL lol!!! LIPAing Out Loud!!!!! Lipa You Rock!!!!!!!

Lipa's Fame Has Reached New Heights

This past Chol Hamoed Pesach, Lipa performed at Six Flags Great Adventure In New England Massachusetts. He has become so famous that they can't even mention his name anymore!!!!!!! Look at the bottom left corner of this ad of the event:

It says: SPECIAL YOM TOV ZMIROS! (not concert)

with VERY famous singer

At this mini Big Event, Lipa greatly praised the brother of the organizer of the event, Rabbi Zecharia Wallerstein. To see videos of his Amazing, UnbeLIPAble, speeches CLICK HERE. If this man is good enough for Lipa to praise, you know that he must be Awesome.

Lipa's New Cd

Lipa's new cd is called "LIPA- A Pasheta Yid," but the cd is not pashet at all. It's like a mussar cd. I sure hope they do not water down Wake Up (I hope the version that WE have is watered down). It should be out in a week and a half.
